Southlake is seeking an experienced Interventional Cardiologist who is currently actively involved in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI). The preferred candidate will be an experienced TAVI operator ideally with expertise in structural heart CT scan analysis and interpretation.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic Interventional Cardiology Team with a growing Structural Heart Program consisting of 2 Interventional Cardiologists, 3 Cardiac Surgeons and an engaged Cardiac Anesthesia team. Expertise in other structural heart procedures including mitral valve intervention, left atrial appendage occlusion, treatment of patent foramen ovale, atrial septal defects, and paravalvular leaks will enhance our expanding program.

Southlake is a Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care designated and funded Regional Cardiac Program, serving 1.5 million people and 10 hospitals in the fast growing York and North Simcoe Muskoka regions. Southlake's full-time Cardiac Medical Staff includes 5 Cardiac Surgeons and 24 Cardiologists, with groups sub-specializing in Interventional, CTO/CHIP, Electrophysiology, Invasive and Non-invasive Cardiology.

Southlake is a high volume centre performing 6,500 catheterizations, 2,400 angioplasties, and 550 primary PCI cases per year with recent expansion from 2 to 3 catheterization labs. The position also includes practice privileges at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ontario, an affiliated stand-alone PCI centre for which Southlake is the mentor site.

The successful candidate must hold or be eligible to hold an Independent Practice licence with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and be Royal College certified.
