The Department of Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital seeks outstanding physicians or physician-scientists for junior faculty positions in Translational Genomic Medicine, involving the application of WES/WGS to clinical medicine. Successful candidates should possess an M.D., M.D.-Ph.D. or Ph.D. with strong genomics training and computational skills. Appointment at Assistant or Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievement. The successful candidate will also teach students and fellows in the laboratory, classroom or clinic. Each position is described below:
Faculty Position #1 is in clinical genomic medicine with appointment in the BWH Genetics Division. Clinical training in internal medicine or genetics with appropriate clinical or translational research interests is desirable. Areas of interest include: monogenic disease gene discovery, functional genomics, complex disease genetics and epigenetics, gene editing and genomic risk prediction, potentially targeted to specific diseases.
Faculty Position #2 is in basic or translational laboratory research on the genetics of pancreatic and hepatobiliary neoplasms or non-malignant gastrointestinal conditions. This position carries an appointment in the BWH Division of Gastroenterology, and co-appointment and lab space in the BWH Genetics Division, and clinic options at BWH and DFCI.
Faculty Position #3 is for candidates with independent funding and space at a Harvard-affiliated institution who possesses expertise in computational genomics and desire active involvement in the BWH genomic medicine program.
