The VA Northeast Ohio Health Care System (VA NEOHS) and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) seek an outstanding candidate for the position of Chief, Surgical Service. The VA NEOHS is a Level 1A VAMC, serving a Veteran population that includes more than 100,000 covered lives. Performing over 7000 cases annually, we serve as a Center of Excellence for open heart surgery and offer advanced procedures including robotic procedures, LVAD and TAVR implantation. The Chief of Surgery is responsible for the management of 10 on site OR’s, a three suite off site ambulatory Surgery Center and the interacts with multiple post graduate surgical training program. An additional two suite hybrid OR is scheduled to open in the spring of 2019. The Chief of Surgery is a member of the medical executive group and serves as the main liaison for Surgery Service with medical center administration, the CWRU School of Medicine, and network (VISN) leadership. The successful candidate will be an experienced and effective manager with a strong commitment to medical education and research. Applicants must be Board certified and must qualify for appointment to the CWRU School of Medicine at the Associate Professor or Professor Level.
