FACULTY POSITION

Baystate Health is western Massachusetts’s premier healthcare provider and home to the prestigious University of Massachusetts Medical School - Baystate. The cornerstone of our organization is Baystate Medical Center, a 716-bed tertiary care hospital which boasts the state’s single busiest emergency department and the region’s only Level-I trauma center. With 3 community hospitals, Baystate Children’s Hospital, Baystate Regional Cancer Program, and Baystate Primary Care Medical Practices, we offer an amazing, diverse culture that provides outstanding opportunities for physicians to start or advance their career.

Baystate Regional Cancer Program is the region’s only academic cancer program and only program doing clinical research. Our fully integrated program includes radiation, gynecologic, and surgical oncology, and a dedicated oncology inpatient unit.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

 We are seeking a Breast Medical Oncologist to join our team of 12 physicians and 5 APCs who provide interdisciplinary clinics across 5 locations in western MA.

 Excellence in clinical care and medical education. Faculty appointment to UMass Medical School-Baystate and opportunity to teach our hem/onc fellows, residents and medical students.

 Investigator-initiated research, cooperative and pharmaceutical group trials, with both clinical, QI and translational research opportunities available.

 Certified ASCO Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI) program. Strong focus on value- and evidence-based care, and quality improvement is a scholarly focus.

QUALIFICATIONS: We seek an individual with 3+ years’ experience and outstanding clinical, clinical research, and teaching skills. The clinical emphasis of this position is breast medical oncology; experience in breast cancer clinical trials and an interest and ability in benign hematology would be assets. Our experienced physicians can provide excellent mentorship to those early in their careers.

The Pioneer Valley is a thriving area located in western Massachusetts and provides extensive access to urban, suburban and rural amenities. Anchored by the city of Springfield, our region boasts a myriad of opportunities for recreation, music, education and art enthusiasts. When you live and work in the Pioneer Valley, you will enjoy picturesque four-season living, excellent schools and year-round social and cultural events.
