Translational Imaging Scientists

The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging is expanding the breadth and depth of its research programs. In support of this expansion, the Department is opening a search for several faculty Imaging Scientists to work closely with clinical faculty to develop innovative new capabilities in translational imaging. The selected candidate will be appointed at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the In-Residence or Adjunct series depending on qualifications and interests.

Faculty are expected to develop an independent research program of excellence. Responsibilities include providing leadership for transdisciplinary development of cutting-edge neurological, body, cardiovascular and/or molecular imaging science technology. Given the breadth of expansion, candidates who excel in any area of imaging will be considered. Specific examples may include image acquisition and analysis, radiomics, radiogenetics, molecular techniques, hardware development, artificial intelligence/machine learning, virtual reality interfaces, and/or medical device development. Other responsibilities include close interaction with basic scientists and clinical researchers in planning conducting, and evaluating data. Faculty are required to teach residents, fellows, medical students, and master students.

Candidates must have a PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics or Related Field, and with postgraduate or postdoctoral training and research experience since obtaining their PhD, preferably at least two years combined. The requirements are to be met by the time of the faculty appointment start date.
