The facility medical director (FMD) is responsible for results-oriented, strategic leadership to ensure the clinical performance of the facility. The FMD provides daily oversight for the facility emergency department medical providers within the practice operations area. You will ensure that client hospital expectations are met and TeamHealth is adhering to contractual obligations for emergency department staffing.

We ask that candidates be board certified or board eligible in pediatric emergency medicine or emergency medicine with a minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in a leadership role. You should have outstanding leadership skills and the ability to deal well with difficult situations. A qualified individual will have excellent oral and written skills, advanced problem solving skills, and outstanding presentation skills. The ability to work in a team environment is a must.

El Paso Children's Hospital is staffed by board certified pediatric emergency medicine doctors, nurses and specialists trained in children's emergency medicine. Over 75 top-ranked pediatric specialists are available for consult, serving all patients from birth through 21 years of age. There is 24/7 attending and resident coverage, respiratory therapists, and dedicated clinical pharmacists. There are also dedicated social workers and child life specialists on site.
