Registered Nurse (RN)/Cardiac Telemetry Unit/Full time 7:00am-3:30pm/80 hours per pay Sign on Bonus
The CTU-Cardiac Telemetry Unit is a 29 bed inpatient nursing care unit that contains a 10 bed Observation Unit. The unit has 1 negative pressure room for isolation purposes. Typical patients admitted to CTU have cardiac and vascular conditions that require medical or surgical cardiology services. The diagnoses included are chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, angina, peripheral vascular disease, and other cardiac diseases. Clinical specialties include constant cardiac monitoring and pharmacologic treatment of arrhythmias. This unit is also a post procedural unit for patients who have received intervention in the cath lab: status post PCI, stents, ICD, permanent pacemakers, EP studies and cardiac ablation procedures.
The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who partners with and advocates for patients/families/significant others to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support which impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment. The RN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing. The RN utilizes the nursing process in conjunction with evidence-based principles to care for a diverse caseload of patients within the department scope of service. The RN serves as guide, healer, collaborator, teacher, leader and sentry. The RN collaborates with and guides care delivered by the inter-professional team. The RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics and applicable regulatory standards.
Education
Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree in Nursing
Preferred educational qualifications: BSN Preferred; BSN Completion or Professional Certification may be required. RNs with a minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience may elect to forgo the BSN requirement and sign a Professional Certification MOU which must be obtained within 3 years of hire.
