Position description
Mayo Clinic Health System is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Medical Oncology practice in Mankato. The SWMN Division of Medical Oncology practice is a physician-led team of board certified hematology and oncology physicians working in collaboration with specialties including Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Radiology, and Pathology. You will join a multi-disciplinary team of cancer care professionals focused on diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of various types of cancer. Weekly tumor boards, a collaborative breast clinic, and clinical research trials are part of the practice.

The NP / PA in collaboration with Medical Oncologists and a care team consisting of RNs, LPNs, Social Services, Nutrition Services, Pharmacy, and other ancillary support staff provide clinical care to cancer patients at various stages of treatment and recovery including, but not limited to:
  • Inpatient Oncology consultations and rounding (hospital) with some outpatient duties.
  • Handling chemotherapy drug reactions in the infusion room and patients receiving in-patient chemotherapy
  • In-patient and outpatient bone marrow biopsy
  • NP / PA may also need to provide outreach support coverage


Qualifications
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner. Current Minnesota RN license and certification as a FNP; license must allow NP to see patients from pediatrics through geriatrics.

Or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and licensure as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.

Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges.

Prefer experience in Oncology, but will consider new graduates.

MN RN License and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License
OR
MN Physician Assistant License
AND
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
