Veterinary Hospital Doctor's Assistant

Ready to make a difference? ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital in San Fernando Valley is looking for Doctor's Assistants to help our veterinarians provide exceptional patient care by assisting with providing an amazing experience for our pet parents.

ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital- San Fernando Valley is one of the largest, most advanced, and progressive veterinary multi-specialty referral groups in So Cal. And a trip to the hospital is often stressful for both our furry friends and their family members. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for helping our pet parents navigate their pet's visit.

At ACCESS, we recognize the importance of those individuals taking such good care of our pets and their families by offering competitive pay starting at $18 - $22/ hour (dependent upon experience).

ACCESS San Fernando Valley also offers shift differentials ..
Shift hours worked between:
7pm-11pm = additional $2/hour
11pm-7am = additional $3/hour
any shift on Saturdays and Sundays = additional $2/hour

Our best candidates:

• Have a desire to help people through what is often a stressful event in their lives
• Minimum two-year veterinary experience in a customer service role
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently in a clear and audible voice
• A friendly and professional demeanor
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Our Doctor's Assistants work closely with our medical teams by guiding clients through their visit with ACCESS (from history taking to discharging) helping to establish the foundation for a trusting and empathetic visit. Your responsibilities may include:

• Work closely with Board Certified Specialists and Emergency DVMs
• Serve the critical role of being the liaison between doctors, clients, and patients
• Organize/ track patient diagnostics
• Coordinate hospitalized patient treatment
• Prepare patient discharge reports/ in-hospital updates
• Communicate with clients, referring DVMs; and pharmacies as needed regarding appointments, medical concerns, patient updates, referrals, and prescriptions
