The Department of Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor, Term Tenure Track.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Department of Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (SCTCT) invite applicants for a full-time academic appointment at the level of assistant professor to providing patient care services and developing clinical and translational research programs investigating effective cellular therapy products for patients who suffer from cancer, infectious diseases or autoimmune disorders. This position will involve translational research using modern technologies including chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) and gene editing based projects to treat patients with cancer.  In addition to stem cell transplant and cellular therapy patient care, this position offers the opportunity for professional growth and development by joining an exciting and active group of clinicians, physician-scientists, and clinical, basic science, and translational investigators. The successful candidate will closely interact with the many ongoing research programs of the department focusing on cellular therapy development, and other projects in support of patients with hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. The faculty member will have access to SCTCT’s substantial patient resources, core facilities, animal models, and educational/training programs.

EDUCATION:   

Required: MD

 

 

EXPERIENCE:

At least 5 years experience post degree with any combination of time as a clinician, clinical scientist or GME Trainee (Except specialties with shorter residences or fellowships) Applicants should hold or be eligible for medical licensure in Texas and must possess either an M.D./Ph.D. with board eligibility or board certification in the subspecialty of medical oncology. Successful candidates should have demonstrated expertise and leadership in Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy clinical research.
