Vascular Neurology Faculty

The University of Florida Department of Neurology is seeking senior (chief level) and junior faculty for the Stroke/Vascular Neurology Division.

UF features a newly opened freestanding Neuromedicine Hospital and clinic, a new Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility, and multi-disciplinary outpatient clinics with excellent resources for clinical research. UF has a TJC/AHA Comprehensive Stroke Center, a robust NeuroICU, and Neurovascular procedure capability.  There is a strong Neurology residency program (top 10% in Doximity rankings) and an ACGME approved fellowship program in Vascular Neurology. UF is a robust research environment and has a top 10 Blueridge Neurology/Neuroscience NIH funding.

Opportunities for clinical and research collaborations are abundant and resources include the McKnight Brain Institute, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, the Center for Translational Research in Neurodegenerative Disease, the Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases, the Center for Neurogenetics, and the Malcom Randall VAMC. There is active culture of collaboration between preclinical and clinical researchers.

Applicants must be board certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology and could have a clinical or basic science background.

Headache Faculty

The University of Florida Department of Neurology is seeking a Headache Medicine Faculty who will join two UCNS certified Headache Medicine faculty to further contribute to the development of a state-of-the-art Headache program to include comprehensive clinical care, research, and education. 

We have a newly opened freestanding Neuromedicine Hospital, a new Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility, and multi-disciplinary outpatient clinics with an infrastructure and resources for clinical research coordinators. We have a strong collaboration with Psychology and Engineering and Physical Therapy and we are interested in developing all modalities of care.  We have active collaborations with Neurosurgery and Pain Medicine.  UF Headache Neurologists are given dedicated procedure time for injections and other procedures.  We have a strong Neurology residency program (top 10% in Doximity rankings) and an interest in establishing a UCNS fellowship program in Headache Medicine.

Applicants must be board certified in Neurology and BC/BE in Headache Medicine.

We are looking for dynamic faculty who can help lead UF Headache Medicine to  reach pre-eminence.

Behavioral/Dementia Neurology

The University of Florida Department of Neurology is seeking a junior and also a mid-career/senior neurologist (chief) to join a large Alzheimer’s disease and behavioral neurology division. The University of Florida is home to a new Institute (2019), the Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases. A recent 40 million dollar gift that includes a  focus on Alzheimer’s and dementias, Lewy Body Disease, Parkinson’s and Parkinsonism, TBI/Dementia, and ALS. The Institute joins in partnership with the McKnight Brain Institute, the Center for Research for Translational Diseases and the Neurogenetics Institute in a partnership to grow collaborative care and research. The Institute will also have a new building opening in July 2019 which will feature complete interdisciplinary care, rehabilitation, a clinical trials center and four onsite clinical-research laboratories (biomarkers/imaging, physiology, psychophysiology, neuromodulation). The environment features an NIH Alzheimer’s Disease Clinical Research Center, a Lewy Body Dementia Association Foundation Research Center of Excellence, and ample resources provided by the state to include a state-funded Memory Disorders Center and available state-supported research funds . There is dynamic partnership with one of the top-ranked Neuropsychology programs and active collaborations with  geriatric medicine and geriatric psychiatry and also a newly opened Brain Health clinical research program. UF has strong leadership at the University and VA to provide mentoring  and it ranks 7th nationally in neuroscience/neurology NIH funding.
