PEDIATRIC NEUROSURGEON

The Neuroscience Institute at Maine Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE fellowship trained pediatric neurosurgeon to join their well-established team of 9 neurosurgeons and 3 orthopedic spine surgeons.  The successful candidate will be replacing the current pediatric neurosurgeon who is retiring. 

The neurosurgery practice is a multispecialty group with endovascular/ cerebrovascular, functional, spine, pediatric and tumor programs.  The pediatric program is supported by the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital (BBCH) which is the only full-service Children’s Hospital in Maine, and a well-established group of 5 pediatric neurologists.

The BBCH at Maine Medical Center is a 96 bed tertiary care pediatric hospital within an adult hospital.  Services provided through The BBCH are comprehensive, including a PICU, NICU, dedicated pediatric section in the ED, and a 35 bed Inpatient Unit.  The Pediatric Neurosurgery Division has a full working relationship with all pediatric sub-specialties, including Pediatric Surgery, Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Pulmonology, Nephrology, and Gastroenterology.

Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary care hospital and a Level 1 Trauma Center, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and an integral part of Tufts University Medical School.
