The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a full-time Instructor/Assistant Professor researcher (PhD) with experience in developing and conducting rehabilitation research with patients who have spinal cord injury.  Specific experience in being part of a team doing wellness and biopsychosocial research would be welcomed.  Planned research projects and applications for grant support will be patient-centered in focus. Outcomes studies will seek high involvement of community members and patients in all phases of research.  Activities will include data collection, grant writing, focus group consultation, administration of study measures, intervention and training of interventionists, and dissemination of findings.  The department offers a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and education and travel funds.
