Division Director: Allergy and Immunology

The Division of Allergy and Immunology, Department of Internal Medicine, at the University of South Florida (USF), Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) is seeking applicants for the position of Division Director.  Appointment will be at the rank of Associate or full Professor. This is a rare opportunity to join an excellent team of clinicians, researchers, and program faculty as they continue to expand the division’s research, teaching, and clinical missions. 

The division Director will oversee all aspects of teaching, research, and related patient care, including oversight of our clinical research unit, which includes six faculty members, including four with active NIH grants. The unit enjoys more than $700,000 in annual industry and NIH grant funding. The division is highly respected, well established, and has strong endowment funding of $15,000,000 used to support research and teaching. Applicants will have a strong interest in basic or clinical research.  

The division trains medical residents and offers a fellowship in allergy/immunology. It offers clinical and basic science research. The division also provides clinical coverage at area hospitals and clinics, including the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, the James A. Haley VA, All Children’s Hospital, and at our major teaching affiliate-Tampa General Hospital.

The division faculty consists of 13 core members (8 clinical faculty members and 5 basic scientists), 5 joint faculty members, 8 affiliated clinical faculty, and 15 support personnel. In December 2016, the division gained the distinct honor of selection as a World Allergy Organization (WAO) Center of Excellence for the 2016-2019 term.

Requirements:

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine and/or Pediatrics, and certification in Allergy/Immunology
  • Experience in clinical and/or basic science research
  • Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated NIH funding and experience as a PI in designing and supervising basic science or clinical research.
  • Must be eligible to obtain Florida Medical Licensure

Salary negotiable with excellent benefits.  Rank for this appointment will be commensurate with experience.
