Northwell Health’s Cardiology Service Line is seeking a Heart Failure Specialist to join our Cardiology team serving Nassau & Suffolk Counties, New York.

Northwell Health’s Cardiology Service Line has seen tremendous growth over the past five years within Long Island, New York City and Westchester; with the goal of providing comprehensive, integrated health care and wellness services.

North Shore University (NSUH) is the flagship quaternary facility of Northwell Health, providing the full spectrum of clinical health care services. It offers a wide range of specialty and subspecialty residency programs, postgraduate training programs and clinical fellowships for research and education. NSUH provides leading-edge cardiac care, including preventive medicine, cardiac imaging, arrhythmia management & device implantation, interventional & structural therapies, cardiac surgery, and advanced heart failure services, including LVAD and cardiac transplant.

The Advanced Heart Failure program of Northwell Health is a multidisciplinary team including heart failure cardiologists and surgeons, nurse practitioners and registered nurses, as well as pharmacy, behavioral health, social work, and nutritional services. We offer the full spectrum of care to the advanced heart failure patient including cardiopulmonary exercise testing, CardioMems™ implantation and monitoring, an active clinical trials program, as well as LVAD and transplant. NSUH is the only hospital to offer heart transplantation on Long Island and also has the fastest growing LVAD program in the region. NSUH also has an ACGME advanced heart failure fellowship for one qualified candidate per year available through the National Residency Matching Program.

As we expand our cardiovascular health services across the Health System, the Health System is seeking a dynamic Heart Failure attending to support the delivery of advanced heart failure care in Nassau and Suffolk counties, based at NSUH’s Advanced Heart Failure Program. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. In addition, an academic appointment with the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine is commensurate with credentials and experience.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in advanced heart failure, VAD, and transplant. Additional experience and ability to read Cardiopulmonary Exercise Tests are a plus. The candidate should be BC/BE in ABIM Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
