ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR -

CARDIOTHORACIC

SURGEON

The Department of Surgery at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont and the University of Vermont Medical Center is excited to announce a search for a cardiothoracic surgeon. The successful candidate will receive an appointment at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the clinical scholar pathway.  The position will be listed at a full clinical FTE, with the expectation that the candidate will perform teaching duties and clinical research commensurate with an academic appointment. The candidate will be expected to perform the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery, with the opportunity of also performing thoracic surgery based on clinical interest. An interest in heart failure treatment and extracorporeal support would enhance the application.

All applicants must be board certified/board eligible in their own sub-specialty.  He or she must be eligible for licensure in the State of Vermont, eligible to work in the United States, and have experience in the administrative, teaching, clinical, and research activities of an academic division. This is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position with attending staff privileges at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
