Head, Department of Radiation Oncology and Radiation Medicine Program


DURATION:   Permanent, Full time


The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is seeking a Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology (DRO) and leader of the University Health Network Radiation Medicine Program (RMP). The successful candidate will be leading one of the world’s largest and most respected academic Radiation Medicine programs, delivering high quality patient centered radiation care in a multi-disciplinary setting in collaboration with a robust Department of Medical Physics and a team of over 200 radiation therapists.

 

The Department Head leads the RMP in delivering excellence in clinical service, while maintaining and enhancing the global reputation of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in research, education and quality. The Head will promote teamwork, collective decision making and a collaborative and diverse working environment within RMP. The Head will have a proven track record in building and maintaining a flexible departmental culture with a focus on staff experience. This individual must be eligible for an academic appointment at the Associate or Full Professor rank in the Department of Radiation Oncology, University of Toronto, and will be eligible to be the holder of the Peter and Shelagh Godsoe Chair in Radiation Medicine.

 

The DRO is an academic department within Princess Margaret Cancer Centre/University Health Network (UHN) with faculty appointments at the University of Toronto. The RMP is a tertiary referral resource for the greater Toronto area and the province, thereby serving Ontarians and Canadians with state of the art radiation medicine as well as specialized programs and services such as paediatric radiation oncology, sarcoma, head and neck cancer, ocular oncology, gamma knife, and stem cell transplants (total body irradiation). RMP is ranked alongside the leading Radiation Medicine Programs in the world, in providing exemplary patient care, research, innovation and education.
