Overview

As our Rehabilitation Nurse at CHI Health's Immanuel Medical Center, your ultimate goal is to assist individuals with disability and/or chronic illness to attain and maintain maximum function. You will assist patients in our high-acuity rehabilitation department adapt to an altered lifestyle while providing a therapeutic environment. The rehabilitation nurse designs and implements treatment strategies that are based on scientific nursing theory related to self-care and that promote physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health.

To thrive in this role, you need a wide range of nursing skills. This role is great for a new grad who wants to use all of their clinical skills, make a visible difference in patients' lives, and work as part of a collaborative healthcare team. Most importantly, you'll advocate for their needs and wellbeing by ensuring they have the resources and support needed at discharge to have freedom and independence again

What You'll Do

This is an excellent role for someone who likes routine and wants to keep their skills sharp. Your day-to-day nursing tasks will depend on the tailored needs of your patients. In addition to clinical skills, you'll educate patients and their families about the disease processes contributing to impairments/disabilities and teach nursing techniques to help them develop the self-care skills necessary to move toward wellness on the illness-wellness continuum.

  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists and nursing team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Coordinate care for various speech, physical, occupational or respiratory therapies they have scheduled each day.
  • Prepare patients and their families for future self-management and decision-making responsibilities by fostering patients' independence and goal achievement.
  • Identify comprehensive care plans based on patient goals and maximum potential.
  • Participate in the interdisciplinary team process at team conferences and offer input into team decision making.


Qualifications

We are offering a $10,000 Sign On bonus and up to $10,000 to help repay student loans to new hires who meet the following eligibility requirements.

What You'll Need
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required upon hire
