Part Time and Full Time Positions

Day and Night Shifts Available

This is a competent professional nurse, who by training, skill and licensure can deliver and document quality nursing and medical care to clients in a medical detox setting. Administers care, observes, assesses, and documents medical issues, administers client medications, and provides other services authorized by licensure. RN may supervise other nurses or medical staff if assigned. This is a 35-bed unit with 25 beds dedicated to medical detox and 10 beds for further stabilization and education. Nurses work in teams of two per shift. Strong communication and assessment skills are a must. Substances that require a medical detox are alcohol, opiates, and benzodiazepines. Clientele includes the homeless population and those with insurance.



Job duties:
  • Conducts initial physical health assessments.
  • Initiates, updates, and revises treatment goals and plans utilizing team input.
  • Provides case management services when required.
  • Administers and monitors medication regimen and manages pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
  • Acts as liaison with community agencies and families to coordinate treatment and services.
  • Performs on-call emergency crisis intervention.
  • Educates consumers regarding medication compliance and potential side effects.
  • Evaluates and follows up on any medical concerns.
  • Attends and participates in daily staffing and treatment planning meetings.
  • Provides direct clinical services to consumers in individual, group and family settings.
  • Maintains productivity level and writes/maintains required records in time frame defined by management



Education:
  • Associates degree in Nursing, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse.
  • Education must be from an accredited school, college, or university.



Experience:
  • One-year psychiatric nursing experience in an in-patient or out-patient mental health or substance abuse setting preferred.



Salary: $26 plus shift differential

$1.50/hr overnight

$1/hr weekend
