The Assisted Living Manager is responsible for the overall operation of Wesley's Assisted Living program in compliance with the State regulations governing Boarding Homes in the State of Washington. This position will require supervision of licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants, some are serving as Medication Assistant Certified (MA-C), and all are directly responsible in the provision of care to AL residents. The Assisted Living Manager ensures the AL program emphasizes a social model, which is focused more on resident engagement while managing personal and clinical care. As the department manager, this person is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all state required paperwork and reporting.

This individual promotes harmonious relationships among nursing personnel, residents, families, and other disciplines, and keeps the Executive Director apprised of major challenges occurring in Assisted Living while enforcing policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Is responsible in overseeing complete nursing care and follow through. Manage all care, ensures that care plans are established, reviewed and updated regularly according to regulations. Communicate and/or meet with family members to discuss current resident conditions and treatment goals, if any.
  • Communicates condition changes to the primary doctor, family and other nursing personnel and assure the other licensed staff does the same.
  • Provide input for clinical care to promote quality patient services and assist resident to attain their highest level of independence and functioning.
  • Supervise the nurses and nursing assistants directly through observation, teaching and guidance.
  • Assures incidents reports are objective, accurate, and completed at the time an incident occurred by the staff member who observed the incident. Follow up on each incident with appropriate investigation.
  • With the help of the ALNL and licensed nurses, receive new residents and their families into assisted living. Orient them and complete admissions paperwork, to include assessments of care plan, nursing services and other disciplines.
  • Actively participates in state survey and complaint investigations.
  • Leads staff meetings and attends care conferences.
  • Perform other duties assigned.

LICENSURE, EDUCATION & BACKGROUND
  • RN licensure for Washington State
  • BSN degree or equivalent education
  • Prior Assisted Living experience
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Mental Health/Dementia certification
