Position description
The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in our outpatient endocrinology practice. The division has a rich base of clinical and research expertise and has been ranked #1 in US News and World Reports for 23 consecutive years.

This position will cover both our Transgender and Intersex Specialty Care Clinic (TISCC) and the Pituitary, Gonadal, and Adrenal (PGA) clinic with specialty focus on gonadal disorders. Providers in this position will work within our multidisciplinary TISCC team including Endocrinology Physicians, Psychology, Social Work, Plastic Surgery, Urology, and Gynecology/GYN surgery; here, patients will receive transgender-specific services with medical experts that understand patient needs. Scholarly activity including research and education, including precepting NP/PA students, is strongly encouraged within this position.

The provision of care includes, but is not limited to, comprehensive evaluation, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosis, and prescription of appropriate therapies.

Qualifications
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certified as an FNP or ANP; or Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.

Additional qualifications
Previous experience working in LGBTQ health care.

License or certification
Current Minnesota registered nurse license. Certified or eligible to be certified as a nurse practitioner before employment date by a national clarifying organization accepted by the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Certain positions may require DEA registration. BLS certification required. Certain positions may require additional life support certification. As of January 1, 2015 a current MN Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license.

The Physician Assistant is a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program and meets the requirement for certification/re-certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). A Master's Degree may be preferred for certain positions or departments.
