Carilion Clinic is recruiting an additional Child Neurologist to join the Department of Pediatrics for Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. The hospital includes an 8-bed PICU, a 27-bed inpatient unit and a 60-bed NICU/intermediate nursing and is part of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 763-bed teaching/tertiary, Level 1 trauma center serving nearly one million people in western Virginia. Great opportunity for a fourth Pediatric Neurologist to join Carilion Clinic's hospital-based specialty group to provide outpatient and inpatient care and consultations with the full support of pediatric hospitalists and intensivists. On site outpatient/inpatient EEG capabilities with video EEG monitoring available provided by inpatient EEG technicians. As part of our clinically-oriented child neurology practice, you will have the opportunity for academic pursuits at the new Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine but will focus on providing child neurological care to a pediatric population of over 300,000 within Carilion's primary and secondary service areas in western Virginia. Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital includes multiple pediatric subspecialties with staff pediatricians and intensivists providing primary management while child neurology provides consultative services. Shared call coverage that is primarily remote consultative call during the evening and weekends, 1:4.

Other hospital based pediatric physicians include: General Pediatrics, Critical Care, Cardiology, Endocrinology, ENT, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary, Sleep Medicine, Neonatology, Surgery, Neurosurgery, Hematology & Oncology, Orthopaedics, Psychiatry & Behavorial Medicine, Allergy, and Developmental Pediatrics.

We seek candidates who possess leadership skills and excellent communication skills. Research and teaching opportunities available within our GME programs at the new Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, which opened Fall 2010, on our hospital campus in Roanoke, VA. Candidates must be Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatrics with subspecialty in Neurology or Board Certified/Eligible in Neurology with special qualifications in child neurology.
