Clinical Instructor (non-trainee) Interventional Radiology

The Department of Radiology & Medical Imaging at the University of Virginia seeks fellowship-trained applicants for a Clinical Instructor (non-trainee), one-year position in Interventional Radiology (IR). The position is intended to provide an individual an opportunity to enhance their clinical and technical skills, while gaining a broader foundation of knowledge and experience as they begin their professional career, by working in a high-level clinical, educational and research IR environment. The incumbent will be expected to contribute to the provision of clinical IR services, teaching medical students, residents, fellows and IR technologists and nursing students, and participating in scholarly activities.

As an Instructor (non-trainee) in the Department of Radiology & Medical Imaging, Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, you will be working with 8 other IR faculty, Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology residents, technologists, nurses, and advanced practice providers as an interdisciplinary team in a state-of-the-art facility. This individual will be involved in the evaluation, follow-up and treatment of patients with a broad spectrum of clinical problems such as peripheral arterial and aortic diseases, biliary and genitourinary disorders, venous thromboembolic disease, vascular malformations, fibroids and cancer. In addition to providing inpatient and outpatient consults and admitting patients to the hospital, venous access, biopsies, venous and tumor ablation, fluid drainage and dialysis access maintenance are also procedural services provided.

Education: MD, or its equivalent.

Experience: One year of Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology.

Licensure: Must be ABR, CAQ-eligible.
