Nazarbayev University School of Medicine (NUSOM), established in 2014, in the dynamic capital of Astana, Kazakhstan, is seeking faculty at all levels from clinical chairs to instructors. Physician-educators with expertise in cardiology, family medicine, gastroenterology, internal medicine, medical oncology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry (Russian speaking required for psychiatry only), pulmonology, rheumatology, and surgical oncology are encouraged to apply.  NUSOM is also recruiting nursing faculty and clinical or non-clinical faculty in anatomy, physiology, and public health.

The successful candidate will have an MD, MBBS, or equivalent graduate/professional degree (for a clinical faculty appointment) or PhD (for a non-clinical faculty appointment in anatomy, physiology, or public health), demonstrated professional teaching and research experience commensurate with appointment rank, and research interests that complement NUSOM’s research priorities. Excellent communication skills and English fluency are required.

Nazarbayev University School of Medicine (NUSOM) is being developed in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and offers a US-style curriculum taught in English. NUSOM’s mission is to educate a new generation of clinically skilled and research-focused physicians prepared for leadership positions in research, education, and clinical care to improve the health of individuals in Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and around the world. The school will graduate its inaugural class of MDs in spring 2019.
