James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, is one of the busiest VA hospitals in the nation. Activated in 1972, the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital is a tertiary care facility classified as a Clinical Referral Level I Facility. JAHVH is a teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research. We are affiliated with the Moffitt Cancer Center Radiation Oncology Residency Program and actively participate in residency education. We are also a NRG site.
Radiation Oncology Service was established by Juan DelRegato. The Service is seeking an experienced Board Certified Radiation Oncologist. We currently have 3 Physicians, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 3 Registered Nurses, 4 Physicists, 4 Dosimetrists, a Chief Therapist and 14 Radiation Therapists.
Clinical equipment that we have include a True Beam STX, M6 CyberKnife, Clinac iX and a Varian Clinac 2100 EX which will be replaced by a second True Beam STX, MosaiQ, ADAC Pinnacle treatment planning software, Brilliance (Phillips) 16 slice CT scanner with 60 cm bore.
- The selected candidate must be a U.S. citizen and board certified or eligible in Radiation Oncology.
- Experience treating multiple sites including Head & Neck cancer with IMRT.
- CyberKnife and / or SBRT experience preferred, but not required.
- Supervision of residents may be required.
- The selected candidate will work Monday – Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with on-call duties required (evenings / weekends) as necessary.
