ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR - ACADEMIC CARDIOLOGIST

The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Division of Cardiology of the University Health Network and Sinai Health System (UHN/SHS) are seeking to recruit a qualified academic cardiologist with expertise in Interventional Cardiology to the Division of Cardiology at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre of the University Health Network. The successful candidate would fulfil the academic position description of Clinician Investigator and must be eligible for a Full-time Clinical Academic appointment at the minimum rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. The anticipated start date is September 2019 (or a mutually agreed upon date).
The successful applicant must hold an MD degree, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) qualifications (or equivalent specialist designation) in Cardiology with additional training in Interventional Cardiology and have, or be eligible for, licensure in Ontario by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. The successful applicant will have demonstrated scholarly excellence by the presence of research grants, publications in leading journals, invited presentations at significant conferences, awards, accolades, and other related accomplishments. Preference will be given to applicants with a track record in clinical research who will perform investigator-initiated research, and to those with advanced skills in complex cardiac interventions.
The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre provides excellent opportunities for research in percutaneous coronary intervention of complex and high-risk patients.
Academic rank, salary and contractual arrangements will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Compensation will also depend upon the amount of clinical work performed but will be in the usual range for an experienced cardiologist in the Province of Ontario.
