Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician

The Division of Emergency Medicine at The Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont has an exceptional opportunity for a board certified Emergency Medicine Physician or Pediatrician with fellowship training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine desiring to pursue a career in academic emergency medicine.  This appointment will be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the Clinical Scholar Pathway, commensurate with years of experience and accomplishments.  The University of Vermont Medical Center is the teaching hospital of The Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont and is an ACS verified Level I Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric patients, and a major tertiary referral center for the state of Vermont and upstate New York.  With an annual total census in excess of 62,000 patients, the emergency department is known for high quality patient care and dedicated teaching faculty.  Our pediatric volume is approximately 10,000 patients per year with a relatively high acuity and admission rate due to our excellent regional pediatric primary care services. 

Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine or Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine, eligible for licensure in the State of Vermont and eligible to work in the United States with experience in teaching, clinical, and research activities of an academic division of emergency medicine. This is a full-time, 12 month, salaried position with attending staff privileges at The University of Vermont Medical Center.

Located in Burlington, the University of Vermont and the University of Vermont Medical Center serve as Vermont’s only academic medical center.  It is the only ACS verified Level 1 trauma center in the state and provides tertiary care to patients from Vermont and Northern NY.  Burlington is a vibrant community located on the shores of Lake Champlain, between the Adirondack and Green Mountains.  With year-round recreational opportunities, safe communities and excellent schools, this progressive community has been frequently cited as one of the most livable cities in the U.S.
