Assistant Professor, Division of Thoracic Surgery, Massachusetts General Hospital

The Division of Thoracic Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital seeks candidates for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor within an NIH funded surgical division. The position requires a highly motivated scientist with expertise in molecular biology, and an interest in cancer genomics and/or and immuno-oncology.

Teaching Requirements: The individual will have a role in teaching laboratory research techniques to MDs and PhD fellows, and assist with their experimental designs.

Research Requirements: The individual will serve as a key source for molecular projects in oncology. An ability to design and interpret data using in vitro and in vivo oncology models is required, as is experience in the development of relevant oncology models using new molecular technologies to engineer cell lines or work with primary tumor cells is required.

Administrative Requirements: The individual mush have organizational and leadership skills in addition to an ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.

Qualifications: The individual must have a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D., Ph.D. and have demonstrated a strong research record and a commitment to teaching, mentoring, and training. Grant writing capabilities are required. Past funding success is a plus. The position is for research only and does not come with clinical responsibilities. Fluency in English is required.
