Academic Acute Care Surgeon

The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery at the University of Utah seeks a full-time academic surgeon to specialize in acute care surgery (emergency general surgery, trauma, surgical critical care). Successful applicants should be qualified at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor, possess excellent clinical skills, and strong interests in teaching and research. Board certification or eligibility in SCC and general surgery is required. The ideal applicant should possess at least one of the following: 1. A strong interest and ability in clinical, multi-institutional or outcomes.  2. An interest in biotechnology or IT innovation in healthcare. 3. An interest in curriculum development and surgical education related research. Additional training in one of these interest areas such as an MPH, MSCI, MEd, or PhD is desirable.
