The Division of Stem Cell Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine is seeking an outstanding faculty candidate in the Clinician Educator Line (CE), who has considerable expertise in the Pediatric Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation. The Pediatric Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Program at Stanford is rapidly growing with considerable support from Stanford Children’s Hospital (previously known as Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital). The physician will be expected to provide excellent clinical care for the patients of the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Program, engage in clinical research, and participate in multi-institutional clinical trials. Existing clinical trials include studies on hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for leukemia, hemoglobinopathies, disorders of immune regulation/function, and metabolic diseases. The Division is working in close collaboration with the Center for Definitive and Curative Medicine to actively investigating cellular and gene therapies in new phase I/II clinical trials utilizing products produced by the 25,000 sq. ft. GMP Laboratory. The position will also include teaching residents, fellows, and hospitalists in the program. He or she will interact with other programs at Stanford including, but not limited to, the Adult Bone Marrow Transplant Program, Cancer Center, and Stanford Stem Cell Institute and Stanford Immunology Institute.
The major criterion for appointment, reappointment, and promotion is excellence in the overall performance of clinical care and teaching appropriate to the programmatic needs that the individual fulfills. If the candidate has active scholarly activity or fulfills an administrative role, these factors may also be taken into consideration when evaluating excellence.
The successful candidate will be appointed as a Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University Medical School. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
