We are looking for a Director of Nursing to join our Emergency Department Team in Albuquerque, NM.
This full time job is located at Lovelace Medical Center, in the heart of Albuquerque. Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, cardiology, stroke care, radiology and oncology services, including the state's only Gamma Knife Center for non-invasive radiologic brain surgery.

Director of Nursing Job Responsibilities:

The nurse director is a professional registered nurse with twenty-four hour responsibility for assigned departments within established standards to achieve the mission and vision of the organization.
Responsible for overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the unit/departments and executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Provides leadership and mentorship in the development of leaders and staff.
Responsible for monitoring and evaluating quality, patient satisfaction and employee satisfaction outcomes to implement strategies for improvement.
The nurse director is a change agent, and will establish strong collaborative relationships with physicians.
Responsible for overall administrative, financial and clinical activities of assigned departments.

Director of Nursing Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing required. Effective 9/1/19 if applicant does not have a BSN - must be enrolled in accredited BSN program with scheduled date of completion.
Master's Degree in Nursing and/or related field, preferred.
Certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration, preferred.
Current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing.
Minimum of five (or 3-5) years' clinical nursing experience of which 3 (or 2) years must have been in management capacity.
Requires strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
