Division Director (Chief) of Maternal Fetal Medicine Associate or Full Professor-In-Residence 
 
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) David Geffen School of Medicine, seek an Associate or Full Professor for the position of Division Chief of the Maternal Fetal Medicine service. This position is in the Professor-In- Residence Series and confers membership in the Academic Senate. 
 
Applicants must possess an M.D. degree or equivalent and be eligible to obtain a California Medical License. Candidates must also be board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in the subspecialty of Maternal Fetal Medicine.  The Division provides comprehensive assessments and therapy for high-risk pregnancies through perinatal consultations, prenatal diagnosis and genetic counseling; and provides treatment for complex maternal conditions. UCLA has a rich history in care for high risk gestations either fetal or maternal in origin. The division also has an accredited and competitive fellowship program in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Candidates should have demonstrated leadership experience with a record of success as a cutting-edge clinician, effective educator, and accomplished scholar in any area of clinical or laboratory research. She/he should be enthusiastic about engaging in academically productive scientific inquiry, augmenting an active clinical program, serving the university community and educating medical students, residents, and fellows. The UCLA School of Nursing invites visionary nurse scientist to enhance and promote innovative research and the highest standards of scholarly excellence, for the position of Associate Dean for Research and Adrienne H. Moseley Endowed Chair.  Selected applicant will hold a full-time position with 50 percent effort as Associate Dean of Research and the remaining 50 percent effort at the Associate or Full Professor rank expected to engage in teaching, research, and university and public service. Duties and responsibilities include oversight for the strategic direction of the School of Nursing, represent the School at research venues in the Los Angeles area as well as nationally and internationally, and will liaison with colleagues from other schools, departments, Centers of Excellence and other UCLA campus research centers.

Candidates should be creative nurse scientists with a current, focused research program that advances nursing science and is congruent with the mission of the School. Requirements: 1) an earned doctoral degree, 2) academic credentials and leadership skills to qualify for associate or full professor rank in the Ladder Rank Professorial series, and 3) a meritorious program of funded research consistent with the awarding of an Endowed Chair. Candidates should be creative nurse scientists with a current, focused research program that advances nursing science and is congruent with the mission of the School. Candidates must demonstrate a history of successful research mentorship of diverse faculty and students. In addition, candidates must have a distinguished personal record of funded research, and have current research funding from the National Institutes of Health (or similar external funding agencies). She/he should have an excellent understanding of federal and foundation funding opportunities, and be able to implement translational research between nursing and other disciplines.
