The Division of Emergency Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, in Columbus, Ohio, seeks board-certified or board-eligible pediatric emergency medicine faculty to join our rapidly expanding group. Academic and clinical faculty tracks are available.

Nationwide Children’s is one of America’s largest non-profit, freestanding children’s hospitals and research institutes. We are a perennial US News & World Report Honor Roll hospital with more than 1.5 million patient visits annually.

Our Division cares for more than 240,000 annual visits to two Emergency Department locations and seven Urgent Care sites. Our downtown campus is one of the busiest highest acuity EDs nationally and has a Level 1 Trauma Center designation. Our EDs are staffed with Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians 24 hours a day. Our main campus has double PEM coverage at all times with extra coverage during high census times. We also have 24 hour coverage with general pediatricians and 16 hours daily of advance practice providers. The Division will also provide care in a new Behavioral Health Pavilion starting in mid-2020.

Our division supports a large and nationally prominent quality improvement capability and several faculty and fellows have pursued masters programs in diverse disciplines with divisional support. We have a robust educational program with more than 300 rotating residents from 15 different residency programs, we also house an ACGME-approved academic PEM fellowship training program and a combined Child Abuse/PEM fellowship.

We are one of six lead nodes comprising the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN), the first federally-funded pediatric emergency medicine research network in the United States. The Division has a sophisticated research infrastructure with research design and biostatistical support for faculty and fellow research.
