Job Summary

Under the general direction of the X-Ray Supervisor, the Radiologic Technologist / Medical Assistant has responsibility for taking and processing plain diagnostic X-rays, ensuring the quality, safety, and organization of the X-ray operations including compliance with standards and regulations, and interfacing with patients, clinicians, and vendors, as well as performing medical office assistant, lab, and other support duties and other support duties as assigned.

Department Summary

The purpose of Campus Health and Wellbeing is to help students achieve and maintain academic success and lifelong health and wellbeing by providing timely and appropriate primary and acute health care, disease and injury prevention education, professional mental health, outreach, educational services and campus consultations.

Key Qualifications

• Operate X-ray machine; perform x-ray procedures for a variety of examinations of all body structures. Verify provider’s orders, follow proper procedures as outlined in the Departmental Policy Book.

• Provide medical assistant support by performing a variety of standard test and medical technical services not requiring a licensed professional, but for which the incumbent has specific training.

• Support clinic administrative and clerical functions and perform other related duties within scope of practice, as defined by the Medical Board of California. 

• Possess (or ability to obtain by date of hire) and maintain the following:

• Valid and current Certificate of Radiologic Technology as a certified radiologic technologist issued by the Radiologic Health Branch of the California Department of Health Services.  

• Valid and current basic life support cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator (CPR/AED) certification [by date of hire].

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of an accredited program in radiologic technology

Salary:

Anticipated Hiring Range: $3,750.00 - $4,167 per month (10/12 pay); $45,000 - $50,004 per year (10/12 pay)

Classification Range: $35,496 - $66,492 per year

This position is paid under the 10/12 pay plan, where salary for 10 months is distributed over 12 months with June and December off (with pay, benefits, and vacation/sick leave accrual continuing through months off).
