The Department of Internal Medicine, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, and Shared Health Manitoba invite applications for a full-time physician in the Section of Neurology.  The section is one of 17 in the Department of Internal Medicine, providing patient care, undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education, and research. 

This is an academic position within the Section of Neurology, one that has substantial resources within the health system, primarily at two academic health centres and one community-based hospital.  The 28 faculty members form a section that includes a highly productive and internationally renowned Multiple Sclerosis research group and a strong residency training program.  A new 28-bed acute stroke unit has been announced, to be opened in late 2020, and urgent recruitment of neurologists will be required. 

The successful candidate will be an academic neurologist, with preference given to those demonstrating strong neurological research interests.

This is a geographic full-time, contingent position commencing October 1, 2019 or as soon thereafter as possible, for a term of five years, renewable upon favourable review.  Salary and rank will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Candidates must have senior specialty qualifications in Neurology in the country of current practice and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification in Neurology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred.
