Chairperson of the Department of Dermatology

The American University of Beirut Faculty of Medicine and Medical Center are seeking a recognized academic leader for the position of Chairperson of the Department of Dermatology.

The Department offers world-class education, patient-centered services, and cutting-edge research. It is distinguished by its excellence in medical education, compassionate and professional clinical service, and superlative research endeavors; making the Department a competitive academic and clinical site at the national, regional, and international levels. The three year residency training program in dermatology is accredited by the Arab Board of Medical Specializations and its Scientific Council of Dermatology and Venereology as well as by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education International (ACGME-I). The Department offers several relevant medical services to outpatients and inpatients, similar to those available in major centers in Europe and USA. Its faculty members are highly involved in basic, clinical, and translational research.

The candidate for the position of Chairperson of the Department of Dermatology must be an exceptionally qualified professional with strong management and leadership abilities. Required qualifications include: an outstanding record in academic achievement, clinical excellence, and research and training in Dermatology; qualification for academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor; and leadership skills with experience in administrative management and programs development.
