LPN Staff Nurse

Pediatric Medical Day Care Center at Galloway

Full time - Part time or Per Diem

The primary purpose of your job position is to provide direct nursing care to the participants, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the room assistants in accordance with the Center's policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Responsibilities of Staff Nurse LPN:

• Direct and monitor the day-to-day functions of the room assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the Pediatric Medical Day Care Center at Galloway
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc. as necessary
• Providing health education to a child's parent
• Alerting the nursing director about changes in a child's medical status and managing medical emergencies
• Collect and provide data to the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee as requested
• Follow established Infection Control Universal Precautions policies and insure that your assigned personnel follow said policies

Requirements of Staff Nurse LPN:

• LPNs must be, at a minimum certified as a NJ Licensed Practical Nurse
• All licensed nurses must have at least one year of full time experience working with medically complex children. All must have a current certification on cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automatic external defibrillator (AED)
• LPNs may be required by the director of nursing services to obtain certification by the American Heart Association in pediatric advanced life support
