Part Time, Days. 16 hours a week. Two weekends on, one weekend off. Pay Range is between $29.07-$43.61/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience. +$2.50/hr for evening and weekend shifts. Boulder Community Health is a Certified Level II Trauma Center. POSITION SUMMARY As a clinical employee for Behavioral Health Services, which serves the needs of young, middle, and older adults, the registered nurse functions as a direct patient care giver within the unit's care delivery system, with increasing independence. Integrates nursing theories and solution focused therapy into patient care. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Special Qualifications ( licensure , registration, etc.) 1. Colorado RN license in good standing. 2. BLS from the American Heart Association within conditional period. Knowledge, Skill And Ability Demonstrated physical and mental ability to apply nursing theories, procedures and standards to clinical practice. Experience 1-2 years psychiatric experience preferred. WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES Physical working environment may include, but not be limited to, any of the following hazards: chemical, electrical, mechanical, biowaste, explosive, radiation, etc. Environmental conditions may include, but not be limited to, variations in temperature, noise, odors, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to stoop, crouch and twist. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, squat and sit. The employee must be able to consistently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 10 pounds, frequently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally support, push, pull and/or transfer up to 50 pounds (for example, moving a patient from a wheelchair to a bed). Functional physical demands include manual dexterity, fine motor skills and reaching. The following senses will be needed for essential duties of the job: speech, vision, hearing, smell and touch. Employee must be able to lead and participate in high level interventions which at times involves being in a dangerous environment. INTERRELATIONSHIPS 1. Demonstrates appropriate IPR/communication techniques. 2. Enhances open communication in groups. 3. Participates in interpersonal conflict resolution with direction as needed. 4. Demonstrates ENCORE values. SUPERVISORY DUTIES Supervises Mental Health Workers, Unit Coordinator, and Therapeutic Specialist as necessary during shift. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Patient Care Provides direct total patient care for specific group of patients with collaboration as needed. Demonstrates clinical competence in performing nursing procedures and identifies the rationale underlying the nursing skills. Identifies patient care problems, makes interventions based upon an understanding of the biopsychosocial processes. Assesses patient status systematically and anticipates and responds to changes in patient clinical condition. Actively seeks participation of the patient, family, and other members of the health care team to assure continuity of patient care. Communicates clearly in all aspects of documentation. It is the expectation that all care providers document accurately and in real time, utilizing the electronic medical record within their department. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission Standards. Patient Education Identifies patient learning needs, develops and implements an individualized teaching plan for patients. Management and Decision Making Utilizes effective time management skills in planning and providing patient care. Provides constructive input to problem solving. Professional Growth Identifies own learning needs and expands knowledge base through clinical practice and self-directed learning. Participates in peer review process as requested. Attends unit educational programs. Professional Contributions Participates in achieving the goals of the unit, division, and hospital. Shares knowledge obtained from workshops and literature with health care team on an individual or group basis. Able to function as preceptor for students and/or orients with direction. Assists with data collection for QA/Lean and research activities as requested.
