Responsibilities:
The Family Birth Center Registered Nurse is responsible for patient care from admission to discharge. Spend one-on-one personal time with the birthing women before, during, and after labor and childbirth. You will be responsible for assisting, supporting, and educating women during delivery, recovery, and postpartum. Essential Functions: Assessment, teaching, planning and coordinating care including discharge needs, performance of RN-specific tasks, and providing team leadership to assure that care is accomplished effectively and efficiently. Care Team members focus primarily on their Essential Functions, but all members of the team perform other duties as their scope of practice allows in order to meet patient needs efficiently and effectively and in support of cohesive team functioning. $5,000 - Sign-On Bonus offered for new hires. Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:Current California Registered NurseMinimum of 1 year of experience in Labor & Delivery. Additional experience circulating, post-partum and nursery and highly desired.Accurate interpretation of fetal monitor stripsAppropriate identification and management of obstetrical emergencyAbility to perform neonatal stabilization measuresKnowledge of infant security measuresAccurate interpretation and use of unit-specific equipmentAbility to read, speak and write EnglishComputer skills requiredPhysically able to walk, stand, stoop and lift safelyAbility to work in an environment of frequent interruptionsCurrent Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) training required or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hireCurrent Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hireCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHAPreferred Qualifications:Additional experience circulating, post-partum and nursery and highly desired.
