Allegiant of Mesa's "Impressions" unit is seeking an LPN or an RN for our memory care behavior unit. The GCI/Dementia behavior unit at Allegiant Healthcare of Mesa is specially designed for individuals who suffer from Global Cognitive Impairment (GCI), including dementia, who exhibit significant problems with behaviors. We are committed to providing person-centered care using a multidisciplinary team approach that includes the best available, medical, behavioral, and milieu practices, while striving to minimize the use of psychoactive medications.
Qualifications
Must be an LPN or RN 21 years of age.
Must be able to successfully work in a high stress environment.
Must be able to respond in a professional manner to a crisis situation.
Must demonstrate professional and cooperative behavior with all colleagues and supervisors.
Must be able to provide basic nursing care while using a calm demeanor with residents.
Must demonstrate a basic knowledge of medications including, Indications and contraindications for most commonly encountered anti-psychotics, antidepressants, sedatives, mood stabilizers, stimulants and anti Parkinson's medications.
Must be able to follow individualized patient behavior plans and confidentially communicate with staff and physicians.
