Responsibilities
The Manager for Regulatory Affairs, Education, Safety, & Laboratory Compliance provides leadership and expertise to direct a department-wide quality and compliance program for the Clinical and Pathology Laboratories of UCLA Health System. You will ensure compliance with all standards, regulations, and laws of the pertinent licensing, accrediting, credentialing, and regulatory agencies. Additionally, you will ensure adherence for UCLA internal guidelines and policies related to human resources, safety, environment of care, and corporate compliance. You will maintain all licensure and accreditation for the hospital clinical, pathology, and outreach laboratories. You will be responsible for the laboratory safety program for the Health System laboratories, manage the CLS training and continuing education programs and serve the Laboratory Compliance Officer for the Department and chairs the Laboratory Compliance Committee meetings.
Qualifications
1. California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license and/or MT (ASCP) certification is required.
2. Three to five years in a quality/compliance role required.
3. Supervisory or management experience preferred.
4. ASQ (CQA/CQM) certification preferred.
5. Working knowledge of clinical laboratory standards, regulations, and laws is required.
6. Knowledge of laboratory safety requirements.
7. Knowledge of the OIG Compliance Program for Clinical Laboratories.
8. Ability to demonstrate and promote interdisciplinary collaboration and cooperation with the staff and
Faculty of the Department.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Ability to lead meetings, create agendas, draft meeting minutes and build on group dynamics.
11. Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
12. Ability to delegate effectively and empower staff to accomplish their goals.
