The Department of Surgery, University of California, San Francisco, is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time academic surgeon with an exemplary record of patient care and expertise in Surgical Oncology. Candidates must have completed a fellowship in Surgical Oncology with a focus in Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) Surgery, and be board certified in General Surgery. It is strongly preferred that candidates have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in surgical oncology with expertise in liver, bile duct, gastric and pancreatic surgery. Experience and interest in the following areas is also desired: patient safety and quality research, protocol and clinical pathway development, outcomes research, team building and development/directing multidisciplinary clinical tumor boards.

This position will focus on expanding the existing HPB clinical practice by working together in a transdisciplinary manner with primary care, medical oncology and interventional gastroenterology at John Muir Health.

Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of Surgery Residents and Medical Students, and will be expected to be active participants in the department’s residency training and educational programs.
