Job Posting Description

The Vice President, Associate Chief Nurse, Clinical and Patient Care Operations will be responsible for:
Leading clinical and patient care operations spanning the system of care including: patient flow and capacity center, emergency management, centralized staffing and patient placement, nurse recruitment, emergency department, experience and family advisory councils, patient relations, wellness programs, case management, ANCC Magnet Recognition Program, BCH & DFCI pediatric hematology/oncology program, and numerous inter-professional disciplines and teams including PT/OT, chaplaincy, human rights, lactation, and child life services.
Hiring and developing nursing, patient care, and administrative leaders to achieve exceptional work environments and patient care outcomes.
Contributing to care delivery innovation and operational effectiveness, while advancing nursing and inter-professional practice, research and inquiry nationally/internationally.
Guiding exceptional quality, safety and regulatory outcomes.

To qualify, you must have:
10+ years of experience as a senior nurse leader in a similarly complex, academic pediatric acute care setting with sustained professional contributions and demonstrated impact.
An earned reputation as an empathetic and trusted leader who rapidly establishes rapport with others, builds effective and diverse teams with strong cultural competencies through mentorship and professional development practices, and capably leads cross-organizational change.
A doctoral degree in nursing (PhD, DNSc, or DNP) or relevant health system related doctorate (DrPH) strongly preferred.
Nursing leadership certification (NE-BC/NEA-BC) or commitment to successfully complete within two years.
Candidates with demonstrated leadership capability in a comparable academic pediatric healthcare delivery setting without doctoral preparation, but who are either currently enrolled or committed to enrollment within one year of hire and possess a master's degree in nursing and exceptional healthcare operations skills will also be considered.
Candidates who hold all of the above qualifications in a similarly complex adult academic health care delivery setting may be considered.
Preparation as an APRN (FNP/PNP or ANP), and prior accountability for APRN professional practice, is beneficial.
Demonstrated strategic planning and financial acumen, including ability to persuasively construct business plans and conceptualize new clinical programs.
Prior success meeting ANCC Magnet Program standards and specialty-specific recognition programs.
Demonstrated success leading quality, safety and regulatory readiness for a comparable scope of service.
Ability to travel nationally and internationally to contribute to organizational programs and outreach.
