GYNECOLOGIC ONCOLOGIST / PHYSICIAN SCIENTIST

STANFORD UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

The Gynecologic Oncology Division in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University seeks outstanding applicants for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate Professor, or Professor, in the Medical Center Line (MCL).  The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the MCL is excellence in the overall mix of scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, clinical care, clinical teaching, and institutional service—appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Candidates should have an MD or MD/PhD and be board certified or eligible in Gynecologic Oncology. They will need to have a demonstrated the ability to conduct basic and/or translational research in the areas of Gynecologic Oncology.  We expect the successful candidate to develop an academic laboratory-based research program that is highly collaborative within the Department, the Stanford Women’s Cancer Research program, and the Stanford Cancer Institute.  While independent funding is not required for application, the successful applicant must demonstrate an ongoing research program with the expectation for attainment of independent funding.

In addition to research, the successful candidate will perform all clinical duties in the Division, including patient care and surgical procedures at a minimum of 20% effort. The successful applicant will participate in teaching and research mentorship for medical students, residents, and Gynecologic Oncology fellows in the ACGME-accredited fellowship program.
