Faculty Position - Thoracic Surgeon
The Department of Surgery, Division of Thoracic Surgery, at The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, an independent non-profit clinical practice group affiliated with The George Washington University, is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor level (non-tenure track). Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities include: providing excellent patient care; teaching residents and medical students; and pursuing scholarly interests
This position is based at The George Washington University Hospital, a 385-bed tertiary referral center in Washington, D.C. The thoracic surgery team is supported by a dedicated physician assistant and nurse navigator.
Basic qualifications: Applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified in thoracic surgery and eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia and Maryland at the time of appointment. Demonstrated excellence in research is required, as evidenced by scholarly publications or works in progress. Applicants should have demonstrated skills in clinical care as evidenced by experience and fellowship training, with an ability to treat the entire spectrum of benign and malignant thoracic disorders (exclusive of transplantation); have demonstrated minimally invasive skills as evidenced by training and experience. Applicant must have experience in teaching, and the willingness to work with surgical residents and medical students.
