Colorectal Surgeon

The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery at the University of Utah is seeking candidates for a colon and rectal surgeon at the assistant or associate professor level. We are currently a section of three surgeons and an advanced practitioner providing the full spectrum of colon and rectal surgery including advanced laparoscopy and robotics.

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree and be able to obtain a Utah medical license. Applicants must be board certified/ board eligible in general surgery and have completed an ACGME colon and rectal surgery fellowship at the time of appointment.
In addition to providing exceptional patient care, the applicant will also play a role in the education of medical students and general surgery residents. The ideal applicant will have a background or interest in health finance, administration, or quality initiatives. There are multiple options for continued professional development in these areas leading to increased administrative roles within the institution.

The University of Utah is a national leader in providing value-based care. We provide care for one of the largest geographic coverage centers in the country. Clinical practice is limited to colon and rectal surgery with occasional surgical oncology weekend coverage. Acute care/ trauma/ ER general surgery call is not required.

Salt Lake City offers an abundance of outdoor activities. World class skiing is easily accessible within 30-45 minutes of campus. Mountain biking, hiking and running trails are located out of the back door of the hospital. There are 5 national parks and numerous state parks within the state offering unparalleled recreational options.
