DIRECTOR OF CARDIOVASCULAR RESEARCH

The Lifespan Cardiovascular Institute and the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University are seeking a Director of Cardiovascular Research for the Department of Medicine, Cardiology Division. The successful individual will be expected to develop and lead research programs in cardiovascular biology/disease. He/she will be expected to hire and coordinate research staff, publish original manuscripts, and achieve national and international reputation while maintaining and growing peer-reviewed research funding. He/she will lead and, if required, recruit a collaborative translational research program in cardiovascular biology. The field of investigation can include cardiovascular biology, epidemiology, regenerative medicine, biomedical engineering, health services and outcomes, artificial intelligence and/or therapeutics. Development of multi-investigator research and training grants is highly desirable. For physician scientists, participation in clinical activities is desirable. For Ph.D. scientists, participation in teaching is desirable. The successful candidate must qualify for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the Cardiology Division with the faculty appointment based in the Department of Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He/she also should qualify as a mentor in Brown Biomed graduate training program(s). Depending on the individual, the successful candidate will be hired into the tenure track. Applicants should have an M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degree and are expected to have a dedicated commitment to scholarly participation in the research programs of The Warren Alpert Medical School. Candidates may have a secondary appointment(s) in appropriate other departments.
