Northwestern Medical Group (NMG) and the Feinberg School of Medicine (FSM) at Northwestern University seek a full-time, cardiothoracic surgeon to begin in 2020. Primary responsibilities include providing cardiothoracic surgery services in Northwestern Medicine's Northwest Region, specifically at McHenry Hospital. This position will be expected to lead adult cardiac and thoracic surgery in the region, with preference for candidates with experience in peripheral vascular procedures. This role will be expected to take call, round and care for pre-op and post-op patients in concert with the clinical team, and respond on a daily basis to local consultation requests and referrals. Preferred candidates will play a vital role in the growth and coordination of care and other distinctive programming throughout the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute and will have significant opportunities for leadership development throughout the Northwestern Medicine system. This position will include an appointment on the faculty within the Division of Cardiac Surgery of Northwestern University.

Qualified candidates must have a strong background in clinical cardiothoracic surgery, have completed an ACGME accredited cardiothoracic surgery fellowship program, and are board certified or eligible in cardiothoracic surgery. Cardiothoracic surgeons in this position may participate in academic programs of the Feinberg School of Medicine, including educational programs (e.g., teaching service, training, preceptorship, mentoring, etc.) or research programs (e.g., participation in clinical trials, referring patients for clinical trials, etc.). Salary is commensurate with experience.
