GW Immediate and Primary Care (IPC) is seeking a board-certified Family Medicine Medical Director . This is a unique and rewarding opportunity with a focus on innovative technology and patient-centered care in a hybrid primary care/urgent care practice setting. The Medical Director is a member of the GW IPC leadership team and works collaboratively with the director of operations on administrative decision making and policies and procedures development.

GW Immediate and Primary Care (IPC) is seeking a board-certified Family Medicine Medical Director . This is a unique and rewarding opportunity with a focus on innovative technology and patient-centered care in a hybrid primary care/urgent care practice setting. The Medical Director is a member of the GW IPC leadership team and works collaboratively with the director of operations on administrative decision making and policies and procedures development.
Director Duties:
- Provide medical direction and administration including, but not limited to, developing clinical practice guidelines, policies and procedures for GW IPC.
- Ensure the appropriateness and quality of medical care at GW IPC.
- Provider supervision for approx. 20 primary care and urgent care physicians and mid-levels
- Completes periodic and end-of-year evaluation of providers performance
- Responsible for the recruitment and selection of all new physicians and mid-levels in partnership with the Director of Operations
- Develop strong relationship with MFA and community specialist to enhance referral sources and educational opportunities for IPC providers
- Meets regularly with other administrative members and provides leadership needed to achieve medical care and practice goals
- Lead quarterly provider team meetings focused on education and team building
- Stays abreast of factors that affect primary care and incorporates social, medical, and fiscal changes into policies and procedures
- Participates in the education and training activities of the primary care staff, including clinicians and medical assistants, and identifies and suggests topics for in-service training through observation and evaluation of patient care
Physician Duties:
- Medical Director is expected to maintain a panel of primary care patients of all ages, which includes, but are not limited to, prescribing medications; developing a treatment plan for patients with chronic health conditions; coaching and counseling patients on lifestyle changes to maintain and improve their health; refer patients to specialist as needed for care; etc.
- Timely completion of notes and submission of charges.
- Willingness to cover some urgent care shifts on occasion.

Education & Experience:
- Medical Doctorate Degree from an accredited US institution and appropriate licensure required.
- Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine.
- 5 years of relevant medical director experience, which includes supervision of physicians and mid-levels strongly preferred.
