- Must have ANCC certification as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) certification (s).
- Must be an APRN with an Arkansas license and prescriptive authority.
- Must be able to work M-F and on call
- Must be able to provide treatment for inpatient
The primary function of the psychiatric APRN is to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients of all ages in the hospital setting in collaboration with the attending physician. Responsibilities will include: providing medication management during rounds, ordering and/or prescribing psychiatric medications, ordering and interpreting lab work and other indicated diagnostic testing, providing education to patients and families, working within a multi-disciplinary team, performing patient discharges, and communicating and documenting patient care activities. The goal of the psychiatric APRN is to provide high quality consistent patient care in a cost effective, safe manner while adhering to professional practice standards and achieving optimal patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.
